WarEagles collect wins over Turkey Valley, North Fayette Valley

The Clayton Ridge-Central WarEagles completed their fifth week of baseball with four varsity and four JV games.
On June 10, the varsity traveled to Monona to face the MFL MarMac Bulldogs in a doubleheader. The first game was a close one, with the final score being 6-3 in favor of the Bulldogs. Jack Scherf pitched five innings, allowing only three earned runs in his outing. Isaac Loan had one hit in three at bats with an RBI, and Kahne Bolsinger also had one hit in three at bats with an RBI. The second game wasn’t as close, with the Bulldogs winning 8-0.
Then, on June 11, the WarEagles hosted Turkey Valley at the Jack Dittmer Sports Complex in Elkader, in both JV and varsity action. The varsity won 7-3. Bolsinger had three hits in three at bats with three RBIs and a stolen base. Max Nuehring pitched six strong innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out seven.
The JV won their game 6-4. The team got hits when they needed them and put runs on the board. Tate Hoeger pitched two solid innings in the game.
On June 12th, the morning JV hosted MFL MarMac in Garnavillo for a doubleheader. The first game didn’t go the WarEagles’ way with the final score being 11-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. The second game was a close game in which the WarEagles won 3-2. Tate Armstrong pitched all four innings of the game, allowing two unearned runs and striking out 11.
Finally, on June 13, the WarEagles traveled to West Union to play the North Fayette Valley Tigerhawks in both varsity and JV games. The varsity won by a final score of 12-3. Mason Loan had three hits in four at bats with an RBI and four stolen bases. Braxton Bormann had two hits in four at bats with three RBIs. Griffen Hammersland pitched two scoreless innings in the win.
The JV lost their game 4-3. Mason Loan pitched two scoreless innings in the loss.
