Anna Mae Meyer, 90, of Garnavillo, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Elkader Care Center.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. Funeral services will commence at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in Garnavillo City Cemetery, conducted by Pastor David Lenth.

Anna Mae was born on July 29, 1933, on her parents’ family farm in Garnavillo, the daughter of George and Georgianna (Brown) Beckett. She married Leroy H. Meyer in June of 1952. 

Anna Mae enjoyed sewing and embroidering. She had a big heart and was willing to help anyone she met. She was an excellent caretaker and worked at Guttenberg Care Center for some time. She loved tending to her garden and flowers. She had a strong faith and was a devoted member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. 

She is survived by her sister, LuAnn (Reynold) Schmerbach; in-laws, Nancy Beckett, Serenus Eglseder, and cousins, many neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, William “Bill” Beckett, Emma Jean Eglseder, Marlin (Carol) Beckett, Carson (Pat) Beckett, and many in-laws.

A special thank you to the Meyer relatives who spent time with Anna Mae in her final weeks, and to all her faithful friends and neighbors, especially, Kurt and Sue Kuenzel.
