Bulldogs win regular season finale

The MFL MarMac Bulldogs had a laid back week preparing for their quarterfinal baseball game.
The Bulldogs traveled to Garnavillo July 1 for their final game of the regular season, and were able to defeat the WarEagles 5-1.
Parker Kuehl and Elias Hatt both put up two hits for the Bulldogs. Hatt also secured one run and two RBIs, leading the team in RBIs. Kuehl, as well as Carver Blietz-Bentien and Jaron Wille, brought one RBI home too.
Almost all of MFL MarMac’s lineup was able to secure a hit in the game, with Ben Krambeer, Blietz-Bentien, Brayden Gordon, Jaron Wille, Dustin Larson and Bryce Radloff all recording one hit.
Nick Krambeer pitched five innings, striking out five and only allowing two hits. This set the stage for Kade Humble, who closed out the last two innings and only allowed one hit.
The team has proven versatile with their game, which can be seen in only three fielding errors and two stolen bases allowed during the match-up with the WarEagles.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season 23-7 overall and second in the Upper Iowa Conference at 15-3, one game back of South Winneshiek.
MFL MarMac starts postseason play with the 2A Substate 3 quarterfinal on Tuesday, July 9, in Monona. The Bulldogs will face Denver, and the winner of the match-up will play again in Monona on Saturday, July 13.
