A pair of local high school baseball players are Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 2A all-district selections. MFL MarMac junior Parker Kuehl was named to the northeast district first team and Clayton Ridge-Central junior Kahne Bolsinger was an honorable mention pick.
Kuehl was an offensive leader for the Bulldogs, ending the season with a .382 average—second on the team and sixth best in the Upper Iowa Conference—as well as a .500 on base percentage. He compiled 39 hits, which was second most among UIC players, and was tops with 34 singles and second with a pair of triples. While not playing center field, Kuehl pitched 41 and one-third innings over nine games, mostly as a starter. His 4-1 win total was tied for sixth in the UIC, and he was also in the top 10 with a 1.86 ERA, while holding opponents to a .199 average. Kuehl’s 54 strikeouts were fourth most among conference players.
Bolsinger was among WarEagle leaders with a .429 batting average over 21 games, and his on base percentage reached .508. He collected 24 hits, five of which were for extra bases, including a homerun. Bolsinger drove in a team-high 16 runs and scored 10 times himself, while going a perfect 18 of 18 on stolen base attempts.
