Rosea Faulkner
November 30, 1957–October 9, 2024
Rosea Diane Faulkner (Fish), age 66, passed away at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024.
She was born on November 30, 1957, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mabel (Pettit) Fish.
Rosea graduated from North Crawford High School and worked most of her life as a CNA at Boscobel Area Healthcare. She loved and adored her residents. Rosea also worked in the laundry department and assisted living at Crossing River.
On Sept. 22, 1984, she married her soulmate and love of her life, Joe Faulkner. Throughout life, this couple overcame many obstacles of life, but prayed to overcome them all together. As a couple, they were an example of what love, dedication and loyalty should be in a marriage.
Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Sara Jo and Amy Jo. After losing Amy to a battle with cancer at the age of three, all their love, time and attention was poured into their remaining daughter, Sara.
Rosea worked hard her whole life, both at work and at home. She had the most beautiful flowerbeds and not a weed in her garden. Along with her love for outdoor projects, she loved to craft. She was very creative and could make just about anything.
If you knew Rosea, you knew she loved to laugh and was always up for a good prank. Her laugh was infectious, and her day was made if she could make someone smile. When life got tough, Rosea was someone who would offer uplifting advice and reassurance that, “everything would be ok.”
Her greatest joys in her life were her best friend and faithful companion, Marnie her dog, along with her three grandchildren, Jacee, Spencer, and Justyn. She loved just watching the kids play and to be creative.
Rosea went through more hardships in her life than any one person should have to go through. She suffered many losses of loved ones and overcame life threatening health complications. Through it all, she persevered.
Rosea put her love and faith into God and trusted him to guide her. A quote from her daughter Sara, “I’m a strong woman, because a strong woman raised me.”
Rosea left this world after having spent a great weekend with her daughter and grandkids. She had visits and phone calls with some of the people most special to her: Deb, Fonda and Marilyn. She passed knowing she was loved and with joy in her heart. No longer will she be in pain, short of breath, or suffering any longer.
We can only imagine the most beautiful reunion when she is reunited with her husband, Joe. She gets to hold her baby girl Amy again along wither her parents, brother, and many other loved ones she has been missing.
Rosea is survived by her daughter Sara Jo Faulkner of New Lisbon, grandchildren Jacee, Spencer, and Justyn Wallace, of New Lisbon; sister-in-law Marsha (Kenny) Harwood, of Boscobel; mother-in-law Helen (Karl) Degenhardt, of Boscobel; niece, Tera Harwood; nephews, Mark Harwood, of Gays Mills; and Joe Harwood, of Boscobel, special friend and aunt Marilyn (Jim) Faulkner; best friends and soul sisters, Deb Jerrett, Fonda Dickman, and Alice Stoltz; her dog and best friend, Marnie; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate Joe Faulkner, daughter Amy Jo Faulkner, parents Lawrence and Mabel Fish, brother Lawrence Fish, Jr., special cousin Diana Genz, and son-in-law Jason Wallace.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at the Gays Mills Cemetery with Rev. Stan Pegram officiating.
Following the service, a celebration of her life was held at the Gays Mills Community Center, 16381 WI-131, Gays Mills.
