Kathie Anna Meskimen, 69, of Edgewood, formerly of Guttenberg, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at Edgewood Convalescent Home.

A private celebration of life for Kathie will be held in the near future.

Kathie was born Dec. 28, 1954, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., the daughter of Edwin Henry and Iola Caroline (Biedermann) Glawe. She graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1974. Kathie worked as a general laborer in a factory, at Ben Franklin and she also bartended at various places in Guttenberg. She married William Meskimen and he preceded her in death. In her earlier days she enjoyed playing slow pitch softball in one of the Guttenberg town leagues.

Kathie was known by many, especially for family gatherings for her famous fried chicken and cheesy potatoes. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially reminiscing about the good ole days and always had a smart-ass reply. Her favorite time was spent with her grandsons and great-grandson. Kathie was loved by many and usually the life of the party. She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Those who met her would remember her with her bubbly attitude, smile and the ability to talk to anyone, making sure no one was left out.

Survivors include her daughter, Tricia (Randy) Wachendorf; two grandsons, Dillon and Lukas Vogt and great-grandson, Hayden Vogt; brother, Gerald (Trudy) Glawe and four nieces and nephews, Greg, Gordon, Georgia and Ginger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; special friend, Jerry Pierce and many aunts and uncles.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Allysa at St. Croix Hospice and the staff at Edgewood Convalescent Home for all their wonderful care and support.
