Virginia D. “Ginny” Shefelbine, 66,  was reunited with her husband on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, surrounded by her family. 

Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Morris Funeral Home in Garnavillo.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at Norway Cemetery in St. Olaf.

Ginny was born the daughter of Eugene Troester and Norma Nelson on April 25, 1958. She married the love of her life, Rick Shefelbine, on Aug. 11, 1979, in Elkader, and to this union two children were born.

Ginny enjoyed spending time with her family and taking the grandkids out for dinner. You would often find her doing crosswords, watching game shows, and her favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jesse Shefelbine, Travis (Kerri) Shefelbine, Valerie Shefelbine, Lori (Wayne) Patterson; grandchildren, Hunter and Addyson Shefelbine; eight step-grandchildren; siblings, Calvin (Angela) Troester, Deb Troester; four nephews and a niece; and many cousins.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Rick, in 2019; her parents; brother, Alan Troester and nephew, Ryan Troester.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to cousins, Dee and Lee Nelson, during Virginia’s illness.

Flowers will be arranged at Blooming Branches in Guttenberg.
