Bulldog boys net fourth win

The MFL MarMac boys soccer team improved to 4-5 last week, following up a loss to Clayton Ridge with a victory at New Hampton.

 

The Eagles rattled off three goals in the first half of a May 5 match in Guttenberg, before the Bulldogs responded on a free kick before halftime. Clayton Ridge tacked on to the lead with a penalty kick with under 20 minutes left in the game, then found the goal again with under eight minutes remaining for a 5-1 victory. The Eagles accumulated 16 shots on goal versus the Bulldogs. Clayton Ridge keeper Will Roth gathered eight saves.

 

The Bulldogs got back in the win column May 9, at New Hampton, breaking a 2-2 halftime tie with four goals in the second half. The Chickasaws scored twice more, but MFL MarMac held on for a 6-4 win. No stats were available at press time. 

 

MFL MarMac concluded regular season play this week, at Postville on May 13.
