Seneca girls hoops stopped at Ithaca

The Seneca Royals girls basketball team traveled to Ithaca last Friday and were handed a 55-25 setback in their only game of the week. Grace Varo (nine points) and Maya Buffington (eight points) combined to score 17 of the Royals’ 25 points. Seneca fell to 3-11 overall and 3-5 in the Ridge & Valley Conference.
Next up for the Seneca girls following last night’s home game against Viroqua is tomorrow night when the Royals host Kickapoo.

The Prairie du Chien Boys Basketball team suffered two losses last week at the hands of Lancaster and Waverly-Shell Rock, Iowa. First up for the Hawks was the Flying Arrows who came to town last Friday night looking to maintain control of third place in the SWC. Lancaster defeated Prairie 86-49 to improve to 9-4 and 3-2 in the SWC.

Hornets fall

The Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets boys basketball team had a light week on the court last week with only one game due to weather.
The Hornets traveled to Cassville last Thursday, Jan. 23 for a non-conference game with the Comets and were defeated 35-29. Cassville improved their season record to 4-8 with the win while Wauzeka-Steuben dropped to 2-9 overall.
