Seven Central football players were named to all-district teams for Eight Player - District 4. Owen Hammersland was a first team offense selection and Mason Loan a pick for the first team defense, while Griffen Hammersland and Braden Taylor are on the second team offense and Max Fettkether the second team defense. Garrett Burns and Jake Hertrampf were both honorable mention.

The Class 1A - District 5 all-district teams include 10 MFL MarMac football players. Kashton Decker and Will Howes were first team offense selections, while Eli Hanson and Hunter Christofferson were named to the first team defense. Bryce Jones is on the second team offense, then Tristan Hoopes, Blake Schutte and Kyler Nuehring on the second team defense. Cameron Hagensick and Auston Lind were honorable mention picks.

State qualifying meet marks end of season for Central cross country

Payton Stannard completed the state qualifying race in 23:28.6, which was good for 34th.

Jesse Polkinghorn was Central’s top boys finisher in 21st place.

Blair Scherf led Central’s girls contingent, placing 27th with a time of 22:33.8.

Turkey Valley bumps Central out of postseason

The Central volleyball team ended its season against Turkey Valley in a Class 1A - Region 2 first round playoff match-up on Oct. 20. The Warriors came out strong, winning set one 25-17. However, they lost the next three sets with scores of 14-25, 14-25 and 17-25.

With top-20 finishes, Meyer and Fritz help Bulldog girls place third at UIC meet

Charlotte Meyer was the Bulldogs’ top finisher at the UIC meet. She placed 10th with a time of 20:53.9.

Jude Onken finished 45th at the conference meet, after posting a time of 20:01.2.
